Upon request, and with the help of some overly ripe banana’s, I have made the easiest cookies possible… and the added bonus is, there is no flour! These banana cookies can be made extra healthy or you can spruce them up with a little chocolate.
Banana Oatmeal Cookies ❤
Things you will need:
Oats (1 cup)
Banana’s- 3 medium sized
optional: chocolate chips, coconut, or any other items you wish you add!
How to make them 🙂 Here comes the best part.
Step 1: Put three banana’s in a bowl
Step 2: Add 1 cup of oats
Step 3 (opt): Add chocolate chips, ect.
Step 4: Smash banana’s and mix together
Step 5: Have your oven preheated to 360°F, and bake for about 10-12 minutes.
Voila! Easiest cookies EVER to make. I stumbled upon this recipe from www.sixsistersstuff.com/2013/05/skinny-banana-cookies.html about six months ago, and have been whipping these up since! Please keep in mind that my oven is set to a different temperature than the website above and I cook them for a few less minutes on average. Play around with it and see what works for you. Also, if you feel like your ratio is off, and they are too mushy without enough oat, feel free to add as much as you desire. Occasionally I use really big banana’s and need extra oats to make them a little more stiff.
Sometimes (and I mean most of the time) banana bread takes too much effort to make with banana’s that are getting to their peak baking stage. For me, it isn’t worth the effort to take banana’s out of the freezer if already frozen to make a loaf of bread that my husband may or may not eat. These cookies however, are loved by most! Why is that you ask? Because without the chocolate they are vegan friendly, and are safe to consume for those who cannot have dairy or gluten. It is kind of a win-win for everybody. So the next time you go to toss your banana’s because you already have some in the freezer, make these instead!
